HOW MUCH ART CAN YOU TAKE?

A really useful site that links artworks from different times and cultures by themes. Essential for all GCSE & IB artists - no excuse for not being able to compare and contrast diverse approaches to your chosen themes...

I have been looking at free, web-based alternatives to
Photoshop.

Aviary is a collection of programmes that
allow you to explore image and sound editing.

The kaleidoscope image above was created in my
first couple of minutes playing around with
Peacock. It's very different to most image manipulation
software so do watch the demo video first.

Phoenix on the other hand is a much more straight forward
Photoshop clone that features layers.

I'm nott a great fan of 'tagging' myself. However, this is an interesting response to the gestures made by the artists.

6 month exposure photographs

Yes - not 125th of a second - but 6 entire months to make each photograph....

Does the length of time taken to make an artwork contribute to its value?

Post Paris Projects

You will produce at least 3 major projects between now and the end of the school year.

Mixing up Paris research via the filters of your 2 keywords.

To help inspire you you will produce 5 sides of research split between investigation (written, visual, but most of all critical and contextual) into any 2 artists from this gallery. The links include information on the artists and also some press/criticism about their work to help beef up your own writing.

tadao ando
became first known to society in the 1970s,
through ‘urban guerrilla house’, and the row house in
sumiyoshi, osaka, japan. since then he has continued to
create innovative architectural works that are critical of
contemporary society. since the late 1990s, he has gradually
expanded his field of activity overseas until today, he is
engaged in work all over the world, from europe and the
united states to asia and the middle east.
